Hi,

Last week I had a between the teeth kind of cavity filled, When flossing i
notice i dont have to push the floss through, the molars dont touch each
other anymore.

Also the gum is a bit painful at that spot after the filling,

Should this be a concern?

If the adjacent teeth do not have a tight contact between them, then
food will probably be forced in that space everytime you eat and this
will eventually lead to further decay and gum problems. This problem
needs to be fixed, possibly with a new filling. However, sometimes if a
cavity is too large a filling won't be able to establish a tight
contact with the other tooth and you will need to have an inlay or
crown (something that is fabricated in a lab rather than in the
surgery).
