hi
i'm 29 yrs old. I had a sharp pain at the back of my mouth
yesterday. The pain literally can be felt all the way from my mouth
leading up into my brain. It hurts that bad.
I took a look inside my mouth using a wall mirror. It looks as if a
tooth is sprouting way back at the end. (is that where wisdom teeth
usually erupt?) So i figure its a wisdom tooth trying to emerge.
Its about half way emerged and is acheing like hell. I read on the
internet that wisdom teeth sometimes do not have enough space to emerge
and have to be removed.
I'm not sure if the pain is due to that or if its just the pain of a
new tooth emerging. What should I do?
I find the only way to shut off this 'pain signal' going to my brain is
by going to sleep.

I think there's an excellent chance you are totally correct about the
source of the pain. If you are 29 and your wisdom tooth has not totally
erupted into your mouth, it is extrememly unlikely it ever will. The
flap of tissue covering the crown of the tooth can get infected.
You should be seen. The infection should be treated, and the wisdom
tooth may need to be removed.
