I have been taking Vicodin painkiller for one week due to gum pain.

Could this painkiller also lessen osteo-arthritis pain? I have
osteo-arthritis in the knee but haven't noticed as much knee pain since
taking the Vicodin.

I am not sure if this was just a coincedence or if the Vicodin is
capable of reducing the knee pain.

Yes it will.  However, narcotic analgesics are not IMO appropriate for
treatment of chronic pain due to osteoarthritis, both because of the
addiction potential and also due to the fact that Vicodin is essentially
an analgesic, not antiinflammatory.  You should discuss this with your
orthopedist.
