A friend of mine is studying to become a dentist (in India). He is very
much interested in Maxillofacial surgery. I want to buy him books on
this subject but don't know where to start. Can anyone please recommend
good titles and if anyone has used books for cheap or free, please let
me know.

Thanks.

His school doubtless has specific textbooks they will require.

OP here. Thanks for your reply.

I understand his school may have textbooks but is it possible to
recommend few reference textbooks? The textbooks that are published
here in the US may not be avaible to them so soon and even if they
might, they would be prohibitively expensive. I'm just trying to help
out. Is it possible to suggest any books?

Thanks.

Sorry, I'm out of school 30 years--I don't know what the standard texts
are now.

I don't think that you can learn much Oral MaxilloFacial Surgery out of a textbook.

Sure you can.  It's not just cutting and sewing.  But of course you're
right--at a certain point, there's no substitute for having that big
cold steel instrument in your hands.
