Hi,

I am really anxious about my dentist appointment for tuesday, He wants to do
another 4 cavities. I already have had numerous fillings.

I am following all advises, quit smoking, brush floss toothpick,
mouthwashes, dont use any suger etc etc. They cavities keep coming. I am
getting really desperate.

After my dentist "cleaned" my teeth and i went to the hygienist 2 weeks
later she says there is a lot of calcius. This simply means my dentist
doesnt clean my teeth properly.

I completely lost my trust in dentists and feel that its in their interest
to dril, fill and destroy my teeth. I really fear walking around with an
ugly set of crowns in couple of years if it goes on at this rate.

My brother smokes a lot drinks a lot of cocacola is a vegetarian and has a
unhealthy lifestyle, hasn't visited a dentist for 5 years and doesnt have a
single filling or a single problem.

Maby this whole dental industry is there for the enrichment of dentists not
for the patient.

What if I just visit the hygienist every 3 months and just skip the dentist
and see what happens? Would I be taking a big risk or am I saving my teeth
that way?

Greetings Hans, netherlands. (sorry for the bad english)

I guess it's up to you!  If you don't want to go, then don't.  I don't know
how old you are, but I would assume that there is not any law that requires
you to go to the dentist.  It's your mouth and your body, so you should use
your own judgement and do what you want.

Why don't you try going to a different dentist and see if things
improve?  If you think he's not a good dentist then don't go there.

Being a vegetarian is not unhealthy :)

Why don't you go to another dentist for a 2nd opinion or even visit a
dental school?

George
