Film on teeth after oral surgery

Hello,

I am looking for advice, I called my oral surgeons office with
questions, but they seemed to blow me off and not offer any
information. I had my bottom wisdom teeth and one tooth next to a
wisdom tooth removed last friday. For all intents and purposes I think
I am doing well. Never had to take any pain medication other than
Ibprophen. Anyway, for the past few days I have had a thick film on my
teeth that I have had a difficult time getting off (too afriad to brush
rigorously) and a bad taste in my mouth. This usually goes away as the
day progresses and /I've drank a lot of water (It presents most foul in
the morning, a dry sticky mouth with a "morning mouth" kind of taste).
Should I be concerned?

On Question I wanted to know that my oral surgeons nurses would not
answer, is when is it reletively safe to use a straw again. The nurse
told me to never use them again, as they weren't really important.
Thats not the answer I was looking for.

Does anyone know the time frame for healing. When does the blood clot
form, when do your chances of dry socket reduce? I'm terrified of the
syringe things they gave me because I don't want to knock out the blood
clot (like a co-worker did). When can I use this syringe liberally with
less concern.

Thanks for any advice in advance!

After 48 hrs or so it's safe to use a straw.  I would fire any
assistant who went wiseass on a patient without cause.
