I had a couple fillings about 3 - 4 months ago. The next day, my tongue
was still numb and everything tasted exceptionally salty. Now, tastes
seem to be fine -- that or I'm just used to the different taste. My
tongue still feels numb though. It's not completely numb to the point
where I'd chew it up in my sleep, but the numbness is localized to a
"strip" on the top of the right side of my tongue. It feels like it
would had I burned it on food that was too hot to eat.
Is this likely to be permanent? Are there treatments?

It's a bit unusual for this kind of nerve damage solely from an
injection (though I have heard reports like this with a particular type
of anesthetic).
It can take many months for nerve damage to heal. If there has been
gradual improvement, this numbness may still resolve--it can take many
months. No guarantee it will resolve completely, and nothing much you
can do about it.
