I realize that some readers might think this thread has been placed here
in smd by error. This has not been in error. I once questioned the
identity of an smd-poster who claimed to have been a paratrooper (recent
years) in the Army as part of her military career development involving
her climb to the rank of Captain. It was because I had a serious (and
private) personal interest in this event which occurred in 1994, that I
attempted to involve our smd=poster in a discussion about the incident;
mainly to reduce my own doubt that someone was not who someone wanted
others to believe she was -- and many would ask, "so what?" Maybe it
doesn't matter and maybe it does.
Had she been familiar with this tragedy, I would have been inclined to
accept that I was indeed communicating with someone who had worn (or
still wore) the uniform of a US Army Captain who had been a paratrooper.
But as we know, somethings we are not intended to know; and maybe our
Lorrie just didn't want to "go there" ... for what could be obvious
reasons. Or maybe our Lorrie was someone altogether different. I will
never likely know if Lorrie and Lori E. have anything in common in real
life.
But I can't help wondering if our fellow poster had indeed been at the
scene of that event on that day ... and if she needed much more
understanding from "people" than she seemed to have been getting ... it
was the irony of the names that eventually caught my eye more so than
anything else. But what leaves me with the biggest question is this:
how was it possible that "our Lorrie" could have been who she said she
was AND not have had a thing to say about "The Green Ramp Disaster"?
If this post means absolutely nothing to you as a reader, that is fine.
But to those who may be wondering if I've simply "lost it" ... I have
not. More to the point, I may have "found it" ... "it" being some
degree of explanation to something personally baffling ... and equally
possible, I may not have found anything more than what I found.
