problem with temporary implanted bridge..

I am so upset! I went to a periodontist (sp) who told me that he could give
me an implanted bridge.. no problem. Three  weeks ago I had all of my upper
teeth removed and 3 temporary implants placed. They put in the temporary
bridge which did not fit and flapped.. litterally. I was told that it would
have to be that way for healing until my 2nd surgery in two weeks. I had that
surgery.. and the "bridge" fits even worse!  In the 6 days that I've had it..
it has broken 4 times. Finally, today I went in and saw the periodontist and
he said that the plastic "temporary" is just too thin and now.. after I've
been charged 40,000 for all of this... I need a denture for the next 6 months.
They've already charged me 40,000.. but now they want an additional 1,000. I
thought I paid for an implanted bridge! (I have 2 implants in the back and
one in the front) Temporary... is there ANY way around having to now get a
denture on top of everything else?
I am WAY into debt with this. I'm only 36.  If anybody has an idea PLEASE
email me and let me know!!
Thank you SO much for your
time.

Synnamon, I feel so badly for you. I have also had just the most awful and
expensive problem with dentists. Over the years, I have had three almost
complete re-do's of my mouth and everyone has failed. I've changed dentists
after each complete failure with the promise each time from the new dentist
that they will fix the problems because the last dentist didn't know what
he/she was doing. I now only have four permanant teeth lett on my upper row
of teeth, and nine left on the lower (of those nine three have been capped).
I haven't had a cavity in over twenty years. The teeth are gone because a
dentist screwed up. And it looks as if there is still no solution. I have no
faith left that anyone will do anything right. I just want you to know that I
understand how frustrated you must be and share your complete shock at how
this can happen.

Ty Supermax,
I've not been this frustrated in a very long time!
I have been eating an almost total liquid diet for the past couple of days. I
cant tell you how sick I am of soup and liquid potatoes!
I am so sorry to hear of your expeariences. It seems like there aught to be a
better way to do this for people.. and it seems like there aught to be
cheaper ways of doing it! I know that Dr's go to school for years.. and they
should be paid well for what they do.. but it just seems like there should
either be less expensive products or... the government should help.. or
something:S
Keep in touch if you'd like..

If you are within 100 miles of Philadelphia PA, come
to my implant shop and we will straighten things out
for a couple of hundred dollars, maybe less.

And ..... advice ... as always is free!

We place implants (we have specialists on site) and restore.

Dr. Eichen,
I wish I was. I am in Utah. I wish I could!!!!
This all started last year when I was told that I had a couple 3 teeth that
were so bad that I had to have them removed.  This news was devistating to me
as I was trying to recover from some physical damage done from a former
roommate. As a result of that damage, I developed a rather nasty case of B.P.
P.V. (Benign Proximinal Positional Vertigo) which has taken over a year to
ever remotely get it under control. ( 3 attacks in one year) I am not able to
lay down because it knocks the crystals out into my canals and litterally
raises havoc for about a year with each episode. So... all dental work,
washing of hair (anything that shakes my head) etc has to be done sitting up.
( A trial for both doctor and patient!) I went to 34 dentists to try to find
someone... each time being told that they couldnt help me because I had to
lay down. I finally found a Cosmetic Dentist who said he was willing to help
me.. no problem! He removed 3 teeth... and sculpted my gums.. 3 months
telling me that when the restoration was done.. I would be SOOOOOO happy! He
then proceeded to grind down 9 out of my 11 top teeth that were remaining.
Then he put me in a temporary guard. That happened in about.. September I
believe. A week before Christmas he called my father in and told him that he
could not fix my teeth. They would have to be REMOVED! I was compleatly
devistated.
There was nothing else that I could do because from what the other dentists
were telling me... They were gone. So  I did have them removed. I am
devistated... and so sad. I'm 36 years old.. my Dad has been helping me and
has litterally almost used up everything he has. Because of my illness I lost
my position in my job and I make very little. I have not been able to step up
because I have all of these teeth issues.  If you have any ideas... I would
so appreciate your help and input!

P.S.
I really do not want to have Dentures. Even for 6 months! Is there any chance
that you might be able to help me long distance? I'm willing to pay. I'll do
anything and everything I can to get my mouth right.
Thank you sooooo much!

Dr.Eichen,
I went back to my dentist on Monday.. because my temporary had broken again..
he tried cementing it in.. after about 20 min.. they decided that it wasnt
going to work that way. He couldnt get the temporary off... he had to cut it..
and then pull them off of my implants.. ( I was in tears) the pain was...
increadible to say the least. I kept telling him that it felt like he was
pulling them out but he yanked and wiggled until they came off.. I had pain
and some swelling that night which has continued.. tonight ( wednesday) It
felt as though there was a marble in the back of my jaw when I smiled and it
was painful. I put my finger up there.. and I can feel something sharp which
I am assuming... is the end of the implant that should be in my bone.. I have
an appointment with the surgeon tomarrow at 10:00. I havent eaten anything
harder than soft rolls and noodles.. on Monday they told me that I cant eat
with this temporary  not even soft breads or noodles.. that I have to be on a
liquid puree diet for the next 4 weeks until they make this denture... What
should I do at this point?  I know I didnt do anything to make this implant
move.. I've barely eaten anything at all. The only thing I can think of is
that when he was pulling and it felt like it was ripping.. it really was. Am
I responsible for this?

A temporary bridge that is strong enough is needed. The lab needs to
get thier work done if the case has gone there. The lab can fabricate a
bridge that will not break. If they are so busy that they cannot do
this. Find a lab that can. There are plenty of us good technicians out
here that could use work and provide service to the doctor and patient.

I had my last surgery..  I am not sure what really happened other than 2 of
my temporary implants broke and so my oral surgeon replaced it with 4 new
ones. They also put in 8 implants..but I've swelled so much that they had me
take out my teeth. I'm mentally and physically exhausted. They couldnt seem
to make my temporary teeth fit the other day.. and I'm getting to the point
of where I just feel absolulty dispondant.
I've been really dizzy today. Not sure if it's the b.p.p.v. or if its
something else. Is there a coralation between bppv and implants?
