Dear patient or lay-person searching this news group for answers to
dental questions.

We have an alternate site on an Internet forum for people to ask
questions, debate dental science, review techniques, learn about
regulatory issues, etc.

We have created this forum at:      www.scimeddentistry.com/smd

We welcome anyone (patient or dental professional)to come to this site
and discuss dental topics and concerns.  To avoid flame wars and abuse
to anyone posting to the site, there is a moderator on the site who
will remove any poster who is rude, abusive, vulgar, or posts unwanted
advertisements for other sites. Spam will not be tolerated, nor will
any Troll-type behavior.

Participating in the site requires a valid email address.  There is a
log-in process where you register and receive a confirmation email
back prior to gaining access to the site.  This is only to enable us
to eliminate those posters who are abusive to the group. So far, the
only poster removed from the group was one spammer who refused to
engage in any discussion. No information about any poster is
collected, no information is being sold or distributed to others. You
can maintain anonymity if desired. A cookie is utilized only to enable
the registration process and subsequent log-ins.

Please understand that the regulars who volunteer to be available at
this site do so as volunteers only.  We receive no compensation beyond
the opportunity to discuss our favorite topics with interested people.
No one is getting paid to be there, and we all have lives outside of
the Internet.  Although at times, that may seem hard to believe.

Please register on the site, obtain your email confirmation, and
initiate or join in on some discussion.

Sincerely,

Amatus Cremona

Do you have answers to "unanswered questions"
or isn't Jan Drew allowed there

As far as I know she never tried to log on.  She would be welcome as long as
she behaves in a civil manner.  Life is too short to put up with
un-necessary abuse.

Best wishes (email me if you want to talk sometime)

We are un-expectedly in the process of changing the server on which the
forum is hosted.  Please be patient as we get things re-configured.
Changing software at the same time.

Okay, let's try this.

New software package for hosting the forum.

go to:  http://www.scimeddentistry.com/phpBB2/index.php

The system will automatically provide you with a link for logging in once
you register.  You need a valid email address, but you do not need to give
any identifying information beyond that.  You may choose to hide the email
address from those who read the group.

Please provide any constructive criticism to me at
amatus@scimeddentistry.com or on the forum itself (either via PM or in a
discussion thread).

Everyone is welcome so long as they are not abusive to others.  Spammers
will be blocked, abusive posters will be warned, edited and given a
opportunity to cooperate before being blocked.  Any topic is welcome.

Unfortunately, the previous discussion threads and log ins were lost when
the Server was replaced.

Jan's Brew is 69% Alcohol - Explains all.

If you type in the old URL of www.scimeddentistry.com/smd you will
re-directed to the new site in a few seconds.  The forum appears to be
functioning well, runs a lot faster than the previous one and allows us move
discussion threads to new topic headings more easily when the topic begins
to diverge.

Because this is new software, those people who were previously registered
with the original one, will need to re-register.  The registration process
is automatic and will send you an email link to follow back to the forum
once you provide the registration screen with your desired "user name" and a
functional password.

Some IRL services are getting rather aggressive with Spam filtering, so if
you don't see the automatic email response in a few minutes, check your Spam
filter, as the message may be sitting there.

Everyone is welcome.  Abuse will not be tolerated.
