problems with new bridgework

I have just recently had a 6-tooth brige installed on my 6 front teeth;
the only top teeth I have left. The previous bridges I had on the teeth
were 2 seperate pieces of 3 teeth each; after having some root canal
work & cleaning of the teeth underneath, I had been fitted for a
1-piece bridge.  My dentist had his lab make 2 seperate bridges in a
row that did not fit; one that felt loose & lopsided & eventually fell
off after 2 weeks of a trial with temp. cement, and one that fit very
comfortably & well, but did not reach my gum line, due to the temporary
I had been made being too bulky.

So, after 4 months, I finally get the 3rd & supposedly final bridge on
last week. It seems to fit well in the chair, and reaches my gumline
(my dentists said my gums will drop again to cover the tops of the new
teeth & look natural).  However, almost immidiately after leaving the
office & having it permanently cemented, I start to notice that the
bridge just doesnt feel as secure as I'd like; when I bite down on my
left canine, I feel a slight pressure on my right canine, and vice
versa.  The bridge is not loose or painful at all, but the pressure I
feel when biting down on certain points makes me nervous & think that
its not going to be secure. the temporary bridge I had on felt very
scure & firm.

Also, the gumline on my two canines has not come down to meet the
bridge, and I dont think it's going to. There is a tiny little line, no
more than a millimeter, if that, that I can see above the gum & see the
tooth inside on each canine. I am currently being fitted for Val-Plast
partials for my back teeth & when i went in for the fitting, I told my
dentist about my concerns ,which he said we would address later; he
seems to think the gums will still fill the space and told me to try
and massage them downward, which sounded a bit nutty to me. My gum line
was fine on the temporary I had on.

So, basically, I am very nervous that I have spent a lot of money for
shoddy work; I dont want to have him chisel this new bridge off again (
a process thats very hard on me) & get a new one unless im sure its
faulty; are the feelings I have & the pressure on my bridge normal? Can
the gaps above my gum be filled in safely somehow without re-doing the
bridge? Can I trust it to support my partials?  What can I do to make
sure my dentist properly addresses my problem....this has taken almost
2 years to get this far & now I fear I might be set back yet further.
Please advise....thanks in advance

Any bridge that takes more than 18 ...... maybe 19
or twenty months is way too long ......
