Intended on getting an implant. Dentist took impressions. Decided to
cancel implant and go with partial plate. Dentist says needs another
"different type" impressions. Does that sound right?

Dob,
    In our office we do take different types of impressions for
partials and implants.  Good luck on your treatment.
