Ask to read your dental records, xrays, dental images, diagrams.
Write down anything that needs to be made more clear to you, for
example
. handwritten notes that need to be more legible
. abbreviations
. acronyms
. terms, phrases

Read your dental records on a separate visit. Combining a visit to the
practice for routine dental care, for dental proceedures with reading
your dental records is not the best way to take the time to read these
dental records.

Go over your own notes on the dental records with the dentist or
specialists.

Locate anything, any notes that appear to be missing from the dental
records and ask to read what is not included. Go back again to read
what was located.
