Greetings all.
I am a 57 year old male. I had all but five teeth extracted 6 months
ago because of periodontal disease. Today I went in for a "deep
cleaning" of the five remaining teeth ( 2 in LL and 3 in LR) and was
charged $114. As she was (I forget the term) "mapping" the teeth, the
highest number was 4. The hygienist wants to see me every three
months. I have no insurance and live on a very fixed income. I live in
a rural town in Eastern Oklahoma. Should I find a new dentist?

No, that sounds about right (actually, a bit of a bargain compared to
other parts of the US). I'd say stick with it, it'll save you money in
the long term. Plus a complete lower dentures can be pretty hard to get
used to, so you'll want to avoid that if possible.

Sounds like a bargain of a lifetime. Fortunately, the teeth can be
saved? 5 of your own teeth are worth more than all the false teeth that
can be placed in your mouth. That would be a priority one would
imagine. In this case, clinging is an asset until the very end.
