I have had a nightmare experience with my teeth..now in the 6th year of
life pretty much being controlled by my mouth problems. Started with
capping my two front teeth due to a "gap" .. dentist said I should get
caps to close the gap. Did it, not even thinking it'd be a big deal.
Then dentist said "well these don't match" so lets cap the next two on
either side. Did that. Then dentist sad "well now we can see the other
two" so let's cap those....so on and so on until my FRONT EIGHT teeth
were capped. Not well either. Terrible unsightly; felt terrible; lisped
when I talked; absolutely AWFUL. So went to another dentist finally. He
redid all 8 crowns. ($$$$$$ of dollars) . Not much better. Still
couldn't talk correctly, and began to obsess over how unnatural they
felt. They felt so unnatural. So...went to the dental school to get
advice from the head guy there...he said you have TMJ now cos of
"malocclusion" , these crowns don't fit you... so went to yet another
dentist. $25K later..I have splints, 8 more new crowns, and still I
feel as though my mouth is not mine.

The crowns still feel unnatural, yet the dentist tells me they fit as
well as any every could. He tells me I have become obsessed because of
all the terrible crowns I have and to just leave it alone.

I can't. I CONSTANTLY touch my teeth with my tongue, trying to decide
if this one fits..if the bite is OK...if the surface is smooth
enough... if the margin is correct....if I can feel gaps in between,
etc...in other words I've had 6 years of BAD crowns and 6 years of
splints and have went broke in the meantime..... and I still am
constantly obsessed about my teeth....

Is this because they crowns still aren't right? Or do some people get
"obsessed" like this??? I honestly don't know at this point if it is
the crowns or just "me"...

I know after an hour of being awake...my neck hurts so bad from the
"sucking" in on my teeth I do and the probing with my tongue of all the
areas so "check" and see how they feel today...

I truly can't take it much longer

yes you're obsessed with it.  Go get some help as to how to relax and
stop playing with your teeth and your tongue.  Relaxation or hyptonism
would do it.
