Swollen Left Cheek From Dental Cleaning With Prophy/Jet

Hi...

I recently had my teeth cleaned and the assistant used a prophy jet to
do the final wash. Upon cleaning my lower teeth, the jet seemed to have
agitated a nerve or something between my lower teeth and cheek. My
cheek (actually .. my entire right side of my face) immediately
swelled. The assistant and the dentist were both a bit confused as to
what may have happened. Has anyone ever experienced this or have any
thoughts as to what may have been the cause? Just curious.

Thanks..

Cervicofacial Emphysema.

Air blown into the tissues.

Antibiotics are indicated, usually resolves within a week.
