Molar Removed, causing numbness of lip and stiffness of jaw?

I would really appreciate it if someone qualified could comment on my
situation.
I have no wisdom teeth remaining, and had the second molar on the
botton left side removed due to a absess underneath it, which was a
capped crown. This was on Thursday Jan 20.
The tooth cavity has healed up well, with the doctor stating no
infection etc is evident.
What my concern is, a week after the extraction,I started experiencing
numbness in my front left face and lips and has continued since.
There is still some soreness in my jaw as well, and pain throbs
ocassionally.
Will this be just temporary while the nerve rebuilds itself, how long
can I expect to have these symtoms?
Any help would be much appreciated for I do voice work, and this would
be a great hinderance.

As far as I understand, your complaints started after an uneventful
period, right? If so, there must be something wrong with the extraction
site. A numbness indicates a nerve damage. But if a nerve damaged
occured related to extraction procedure, you had to experience this
numbness immediately after the operation. A numbness started after some
time is interesting.

It must be immediately seen by a competent oral surgeon. Don't wait for
healing itself.

Yes the tooth was removed, a few days went by with some pain, but
nothing rediculous.
aout 5 -7 days later,it was then I started to have a really tough time
openning my mouth wide enough to eat anything of size.
Then a numbness started in my lower jaw, check and a sorenss on the
upper check bone.
I am now 4 weeks after surgury, and still have some numbness, kinda like
a freezing.
It has left the lower chin part to some degree, but wtill high on the
left check side.
