My wife is having 2 osseointegrated implants on Thursday - the post
surgery info was kind of sparse

What activities should she refrain from and for how long - things like
driving, singing (she has choir practice that same night - should she
stay home? wouldn't the movement of the mouth in singing hinder the
healing of the surgical procedure?

Anything else she should not do for 2-3 days after the procedure?

thanks

I posted the following on the jaw disorder group where you also posted
this question so I'm putting it here too -

Ken - Speaking from experience....I had 4 implants (front upper jaw - 2
front teeth, one eye tooth and the one between) and a bone graft done
last Wednesday morning.  I missed the rest of that day of work but that
evening (after a nap) I was working on a website I do for the local
high school wrestling team.  No driving until the next day as I was
given general anesthesia for the surgery. I was pretty uncomfortable
right after the local anesthesia (surgeon numbed that after I was
asleep) wore off on Wednesday afternoon but ended up only needing to
take only 2 vicodan pills - one then and one to sleep that night.
After that it was OTC pain pills a few times a day and by the 3rd day I
was off painkillers completely.

I went to work the next day (Thursday) and attended the HS wrestling
match that night.  I, too, was given very little information.  When I
went searching for info prior to surgery I found very little to go on.
The worst part was the swollen upper lip - the swelling is pretty well
gone now, though my upper lip and lower part of my nose still feel a
little weird.

Your wife should not drive for 24 hours assuming she is having general
anesthesia.  I doubt singing would hinder the healing but it may be a
little too soon to expect her to be singing on the same day as the
surgery.  I've been advised to not put any pressure on the flipper
holding my temporary teeth for a few weeks.  Other than that, and a
dull ache in my jaw, I'm back to full speed.
