I have already had a root canal in that tooth. Is that what you mean by
endodontics? I don't quite understand you solution below where you mentioned
"finished crown in a temporary cement." The finished crown is going to be
installed next week.

Have the dentist cement the new crown in a temporary cement so he can get it
off easily if retreatment is necessary Perhaps the endodontics (root canal)
needs to be retreated or you are having a referred pain from another tooth

Just to clear this up some.
He HAS already had a root canal on the tooth, so NO temporary cement is
needed. The Silver crown is actually a stainless steel or alunium
prefabricated temporary crown.. The acid in the tomatoes has nothing
to do with the pain from the tooth, infact the pain is most likely
referred pain or gingival pain. However, make sure to tell you DDS
what you experienced when you go to get your new crown.

I went in today and she removed the silver temporary crown and cemented in the
new permanent crown. She said it contains no metal and is porcelain. So she
used permanent cement. I hope to be able to drink my tomato juice now.
