I needed to see a dentist.  Fearing out of control costs of private
dentistry I spent the best part of a year searching for an nhs dentist
and when my wisdom teeth started hurting spending hours trying to get
through to the emergency dental line.

I finally bit the bullet and went to see a private dentist yesterday.

I was shocked by the prices, they wernt half as bad as i thought.

To sum up: £43 for a checkup and xray
                 £25 to see a hygenist
£50 to remove a wisdom tooth
£100 to remove another wisdom tooth.

Its not an ideal way to spend £200 but i thought people would like to
know that at the end of the day, £200 has set my mind at ease and
meant i dont need to have any hassle of trying to deal with NHS
dentistry.

I also know who is doing the work and thats going to be done by a
highly qualified and respected dentist.

Well worth the £200

Hi Andy,
Just to comment, that I'm in exactly the same boat as you are! It seems the
NHS with regards dentisty has completely dissapeared.

I'm probably going to have to bite the bullet and go private if I want to
get a decent check up although I don't think I'll need any work doing you
never know what they can find.
