Was walking on a beach in Santa Maria Bay, Baja California, and found a
mandible with a large canine tooth and two "back teeth" molars?
incisors? Not much on dental terminology, as I'm an optometrist.
The back teeth are triangular, look like specialized for shearing as
opposed to grinding, and there are 3 empty sockets between those and the
big canine.
The whole thing is about 8" long, and the canine, which easily slides
out of its socket (the bone is bleached and a bit fragile), is about 2"
long with 1" exposed when seated.
Any ideas? Pointers?
Thanks

Very good. Looks like a match, and makes total sense. How did you know?
