Once in a while I am reminded of things I heard growing up.

One that seems appropriate at the moment:

It is fruitless to argue with a fence post.

I am sure you have your own interpretation, as most who wield bible quotes
like a battleaxe are apt to do...so you figure it out for your self.. To me
it has to do with an ox, or someone with the intellect of an ox, continually
striking out in a pointless manner despite the fact this activity has no
valid purpose. That is you in the proverbial nutshell. As a bonus, it uses
the word prick...and that too seems applicable in your situation!

Happy Holidays!

It seems you know as much about the bible verse as you do about mercury
amalgams.

You don't even know the words were those coming from Jesus himself.

Nor the fact this all happened during Saul's conversion.

Acts 9:5-3 (NIV) As he neared Damascus on his journey, suddenly a light from
heaven flashed around him. (4) He fell to the ground and heard a voice say
to him, *Saul, why do you persecute me*? (5) Who are you, Lord?  Saul asked.

*I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting.* he replied. ** Now get up and go
into the city, and you will be told what you must do**

===

That last line is the line you quoted. Act:9: 5:-6

Has nothing whatsoever to do with an ox.

I am amazed that you would think that the slang word *prick* would be used
in the bible.

In fact the word *prick* does have a definition.

The *slang* word was added by man, maybe, DENTISTS?

There seems to be no limit to the obsession to belittle, speaking of
wielding bible quotes, which is exactly what you did.

I am sorry, you have such hatred in your heart, and then sign off with a
Happy Holidays.

A real fake message, Tony.

Jan

People who respect themselves view selfishness, loss of self-discipline,
recklessness, cowardice and dishonesty as wrong and unworthy of them.
They  have  inner strength and are unwilling to let others use or manipulate
them.
They  know that showing patience or tolerance does not mean allowing others
to
mistreat them.

Ahhh---another topic where you feel compelled to display your ignorance

Here is today's lesson...now pay attention...

What do you think a prick was? It was a pointed stick used to goad draught
animals...which were mostly oxen during biblical times. The futility of
"kicking against the prick" was that the stick was long, so a kick did
nothing buy waste the ox's energy. The ox was too stupid to realize this was
a futile activity. The biblical reference refers to Jesus pointing our that
Saul was being a dunce and engaging in pointless and fruitless resistance,
much like the ox trying to fight against an "enemy" he could never reach. As
I wrote earlier...this seems a perfect reference for you and your ox-like
behavior.

Let me know if I can clear anything else up for you.

Yeah, that is what I thought....(roll eyes)

> In fact the word *prick* does have a definition.

...and thanks to me, you now know what that is...no need to say thanks!

profanity...most inspired by encounters with you!

under the influence of Satan.

And that's one of the reasons, I am called names, hitting the nail right
smack dab on the head.

It's called being a straight shooter, standing up for myself, repecting
myself, not letting others run over me, when I know, I have done nothing
wrong, in spite of all the lies that have been told about me here.

[quoted text clipped - 9 lines]
> those aren't your words...too many syllables, but they have prompted yet

I have no idea why you would think I wanted you to think they were my words,
nor the fact they are confusing.

As far as tolerant, I am still here, am I not? I don't think you can name,
one other single person, who has been trashed as I have, and is still here.

I have told all of you why. I have suffered greatly. You all know why. I
don't care how long and loud you deny it, it is true and real. There are
others out there just like me. God help them. If they are searching for
their unanswered health problem. I have helped others, and I will continue,
until the day I die, and NOBODY is going to stop me.

One thing you probably don't know, this mercury thing goes on and on. I just
had jaw bone surgery five weeks ago. This is also a result of mercury. I am
still having problems, after doing well for a while.

If YOU dentists only knew, and experienced the pain, your attitude would
change PRONTO!

The sad fact is; not only do you not know, YOU DON'T WANT TO!

Now just what were you saying about
wielding Scriptures some kind of weapon, huh, Tim?

If you would bother to look at the time period, who is talking to whom, for
what reason this will all be understood. In addition, look up referred
additional bible verses. for correct bible meaning, rather than pick one
verse out than suits your purpose.

Adam full well knew he sinned. Adam was a sinner.

New hint:

Bruce Campbell in third movie of a trilogy.  He has to recite Klaato Barada
Nikto to keep the evil spell on the Book of the Dead from being activated,
but forgets the line by the time he fights his way to where the book is
residing.  This is after fighting hundreds of evil mini replicas of himself,
then swallowing one replica which grows inside him and hatches out through
his shoulder to fight with him full size even before he is split off from
his side.  Another movie where the actor gets to fight between the right and
left sides of his body.

While I am certainly not the oldest guy here, I'm not the
youngest either.

I was born in the fifties in an area of the country that just
wasn't very affected by technology at the time.  The only things
black and white were the TV, photographs, and the Hampshire hogs.
The colors, smells, and tastes of that portion of my life are
certainly not forgotten.

My dad and most of his friends had all gone off to war.  Those
who came home alive were usually satisfied to get married, start
a family, and just have a peaceful place to call home.  They had
experienced enough 'excitement' to last them a lifetime.

We had 10" of white last week, but it's all gone now.

Just looking out on Dequindre Road from the back window.  Street is snow
covered.  3 inches on sidewalks now.  At least the rain stopped early today.

You guys had a real good snow storm last week.  It puttered out by the time
we saw it.  My buddy in Raleigh says they are getting freezing rain today.

Not only vivid Technicolor, but stereo sound.  ...except for the
first few months after I shoved that Q-Tip in my ear...

TV?  You had TV?  We didn't have no steeenkin TV.  We had to sit
in front of the big radio and conjure up the the images inside our
brain; and yes, they were in color.  At least mine were.
