Would autogenous graft be better?...
The graft in which the donor site and recepient are the
same individual is termed Autogenous Graft or Autograft.
The best graft to assure the necessery stability and
integration of the implant should be a Xenograft; bone from
another species.
Or cadaver bone.
The palate will not be a good donor site for this procedure.
The only other posibilities would be the
ramus of the mandible or rib.
The rib is out of the question and the
ramus would be a much more extensive surgery.
The anesthesia will be via the
posterior superior alveolar nerve block.
The anaesthetic used will be Xylocaine 2%, 1:100K epi.
