The flossing fiend

Ok, i hate flossing, but I can see with my eyes it's useful.
After some really minor problem I upgraded to a good quality floss and
that made things better. But still, it's a pain.

I wonder if there is any reusable tool, like the one-use plastic thing
with a piece of floss on top, but whose floss can be replaced. That
would be useful, and way less expensive. I was thinking of building the
thing myself, sort-of inverted, slim scissor that would allow you even
to manually modify the tension in the floss while you floss... but is
there anything off the counter, as far as you know?

Thanks

Stefano

Yes.. a proxy brush. You can find them at the drug store. They are a
small bristle brush that you push between the teeth

The wires holding the bristles eventually break(1-2 weeks for me) ,
then you use a new one.

There are a variety of devices.  It would be nice if you could come up
with one that automatically advances the floss to a clean section.
Floss holders I know about need to be changed by hand, which is
cumbersome.  The less cumbersome something like this is, the more likely
it is to be used.
I agree that Proxabrush-type devices are terrific, but they are not
usable in small interproximal spaces.
This page shows a variety of floss holders:

Thanks for the link. As far as I've seen, there's no device such as the
one I have in mind.
I'll look for a sort of resin I coud use to manufacture a prototype...
hopefully... I'm no dentist :)

Bye

Stefano
