An alternative spelling for "tongue" is tounge which we haven't seen
for a while. Its only an alternative at sci.med.dentistry!

only other symptoms are a few sore inflamed papillae thats it...
There are symptoms, according to the brief "history" accompanying the photo:
soreness around the front, center. Perhaps this is geographic tongue, but
also could be a canker sore type of thing -- hard to tell from the photo.
I'd try a lidocaine gel or something similar, and see if that helps. Also,
orabase might be worth a try.

I don't know that I've ever seen an aphthous ulcer on the dorsum of the
tongue. Of course, it could be from irritaion, and if the lower
incisors are rough this should be checked.
