How is AmeriPlan a Ripoff?

The dentists who are accepting these discount cards actually know what
they are getting into and I assure you, they are not losing money as
AmeriPlan pays them as well! It's just like an insurance company who
pays for a part of the work done and the patient pays for the rest!

I do not know if you know what you are all talking about, but ask
AmeriPlan these questions and you will get the answers!

Thank you and have a great day!

Ameriplan doesn't pay the dentist anything...the patient does. Ameriplan
signs you up for $20 or so a month...for that you get a list of doctors who
will agree to accept less then their normal charge when they see you. The
doctor agrees to accept less money in the hope that Ameriplan will send him
a lot of patients and he can make up the lower fees in volume. Ameriplan is
a matchmaker, not an insurance company.
------------------------------------------------------
Here is their disclaimer:

The discount card programs of AmeriPlan® offer a reduction in the cost of
medical, dental, vision, pharmaceutical and chiropractic services.
AmeriPlan® discount benefit programs are not insurance, nor are they an
alternative to or substitution for insurance coverage. Since they are not
health insurance, members must use AmeriPlan® providers and members are
responsible for payment to the AmeriPlan® providers at point of service of
discount health care fees incurred. If you currently have insurance, you
should be aware that canceling that policy often times makes it difficult to
later obtain coverage. AmeriPlan® recommends that you speak to your
insurance agent or your company's insurance administrator before canceling
any health insurance policy for any reason.
------------------------------------------------------

Perhaps YOU are the one who needs to be asking questions and getting
answers. I will agree with you on your statement that " I do not know if you
know what you are all talking about"...as you certainly don't! You don't
even know what YOU are talking about!

Maybe yes, maybe no. The average American dentist needs to be
controlled from what I am seeing ... and perhaps AmeriPlan fills a
role.

Major insurers such as Aetna have very similar plans, designed to take
$5 or $6 a month from uninsured patients and give them access to the
list!

What A WORLD!

Sue, where are you with access to dental care?

Bait & Switch.

>AmeriPlan pays them as well!

No they don't.

>It's just like an insurance company who

Nope, that is untrue.

>I do not know if you know what you are all talking about, but ask

This sounds like another spam to me.

>Thank you and have a great day!

FO and enjoy another spam report.

This is Ainsworth Moore and I did not put this statement on the
website! A friend of mine who was staying at my home, put this
statement on here! I am very disappointed in him! I never knew he would
do such a thing! It makes me wonder what else he is capable of doing! I
apologize for the inconvience this may have caused! I just left to drop
his fiance off at her house, becasue they were arguing and look what he
did! It's a pity there is not a system on google that makes someone who
is putting info on boards to put more info about themselves like where
they were born, etc., before they are allowed to put info out to the
public, so that they know that they are the ones who really did this!
Or send info to there alternate email, asking if they are the ones who
did the posting!

Once again this is Ainsworth Moore and I personally did not spam
anyone! I apologize, it's my fault for having it opened before I left!
You just never know what someone is capable of until something like
this happens!

All the best!

Why not just blame it on the cat.  How about posting the persons name who
did do it?  As well as his address, phone number, date of birth, social
security number, drivers license number, insurance card number, as well as
his fiances information.  Then we can contact them to verify this is the
truth.

Otherwise I say you are a spammer who is telling a new lie to cover his
behind.

What A WORLD!

Sue, where are you with access to dental care?

Joel

HI JOel,

I have not read this thread entirely, but I saw our Q. (BTW, I know
Ameriplan is going to tell the dentists that it is a good deal for
them.  That is their marketing ploy).

RE: ACCESS

I have been logging into Dentaltown and not hiding my identity.
So far they have not banned me.  I ran into Mac Lee.

Please check out:  www.dentistswhocare.com  And tell me what you think.

A portion of the eanrings that he gets will be going towards public
education.  I asked him
on DT what %  goes into this campaign  No answer yet.

I am not sure whether  I should try to work with Dr. Lee's drive or to
try to get involved with our state dental assoiciations.

What is your take on Mac Lee?

Anything that has to do with Dentaltown kind of leaves me in a bind
since I have been banned form there.

I am not sure what direction I want to go yet.  Any thoughts
appreciated.

Thanks,
Sue
PS to W_B... I am not trying to SPAM, I am just trying to consider my
involvement.

At least with Dr. Lee's stuff, I can get involved without having to
jump through beaurocratic hoops.

Poor cat. ... but!, cat food does look like human grade Spam, doesn't
it?  In that case, that is one *generous* cat to share his Spam!

TW ;-)
