Hi.
Just found this group and wondering if someone can shed some light on
something that's worrying me.
About 2 weeks back I was eating out and after the meal I noticed that
one of my 2 front teeth had shifted back by a little bit. Either that
or slightly twisted to the side.
There is no pain or discomfort and the tooth still feels firm in the
gum. It feels like there is a slight increase in sensitivity to
pressure but it could be I'm worried and making it up. Otherwise the
tooth looks and feels fine.
I have an appointment with my dentist in 2 weeks so she can check it
out. Is this something that should be of more concern or am I just
worrying needlessly? I have read that teeth can naturally shift of
there own accord without any nasty underlying cause.
Many thanks,
Justin

Is there some reason why you haven't called your dentist to ask her the
same questions you're asking here?  I can't imagine that your dentist
would expect or want you to spend four weeks worrying about this.

Hi Webby,
I just registered with my first dentist since moving to the US. The
lady on reception was very pleasant and helpful. She didn't seem
concerned when I told her but said that if anything else develops then
I should contact them straight away. Hmmmm. Think I'll ring them in the
morning and try and get in sooner. Either that or spend the next two
weeks worrying.

Teeth shift slowly over a long period of time.

Shifting during/after one meal is cause for concern.
