Contemporary Esthetics and Restoriative Practice

The 'immediate' monodont.
That's not the name of the article, but that's the gist.

I can help out with this as well. I have done quite a few of them.

Feel free to call me at home or on my cell if you want to discuss this.

Thanks, loads. I know I can count on you.... Once I get the case back,
I'll take a pic or two of the models and post them. In the meantime,
I'm gonna have him in and change the MOD Am into Composite. I can do a
wax-up and take an impression of that and make an acrylic matrix.

Cheers

What is the wax-up for?

Swap out the amalgam for a composite. Then, take an alginate & pour the
model.  Make a vacuum formed clear template. Use the thin stuff.  Cut the
preparations on the model through the template.   You will be able lo place
the template in the mouth & repeat the preparation by cutting through the
hobs in the template. Now you just make it on the model & deliver the case.

====================

The wax up is to get the form of the pontic tooth, and its function
with the antagonists. The canine on the other side is a quite worn
(essentially flat) cuspide and the right one will have to mimic that. I
could get some denture teeth and cut one down with the high speed and
then polish it up with the SoFlex disks, but I was thinking of maybe
making a lab polysiloxane lingual/incisal matrix of the waxup or
denture tooth stuck on the model and forming it in composite material,
with the MonoDont wires embedded. I'd stick that back on the model and
make a VacuForm template of the whole thing. Then I would follow the
EastFlex procedure on their web page: Put the template in the mouth,
cut the preps through the template, take it off, etch/bond, fill with
some composite, put the template with the MonoDont in it back on the
teeth and zapp-o with the curing light.

Thanks

Please skip the wax-up. Take full arch impressions. Modify a denture tooth
to fit. A will look better and hold up better than any composite. You will
get the occlusion close on the model and finalize it in the mouth.  You saw
the internet presentation I did on how to do this a for years ago, right?

Yes, You sent it to me via email. I should go back and look at that.
I'll find time to get the iBook out and connect it up to the
PocketDrive soon.

Thanks
