Joel M. Eichen - 25 Oct 2005 12:27 GMT I started to read the thread but it diappeared very quickly .... Personally, I believe in the Devil and his evil work so he must have caused the thread to disappear. Anyone read it who can tell me about it?

Sorry.
I forgot to add that Devil is not his real name either.

Again. Sorry.
I meant Karl not Harpo.
Sue - 25 Oct 2005 15:32 GMT JOel,
Are the high holidays still going on, or have they commenced.
Have you been fasting a lot lately?

We had the high holidays and now we are approaching the higher holidays and the highest holidays ........ it gets complicated.
There is almost no day that is not a holiday. This is good because the tickets at the movie theater are always half price on holidays ......

Maybe you should wait until the Cliff Notes come out.

NOT one word of being smacked around.
Tony Bad - 26 Oct 2005 01:45 GMT > Sad that the *dental school* twisting is showing. > > NOT one word of being smacked around. Then what do you think happened in the woodshed?
"I was also drug to the woodshed when I disobeyed my parents, told a lie, brought home a bad report card, did not speak with respect, spoke ill of the teacher or the preacher, or if I didn't put forth my best effort in everything that was asked of me."
It has nothing to do with "dental school" twisting, and everything to do with reading comprehension. Once again you prove you don't read what you post. If the first few words agree with your core philosophy, the details are irrelevant.

I shall now post what I posted on MHA, AFTER all the twisting and nonsense that was said there.
Posted for all of those who do not say four letter words or ANY trashy words/and/or letters, do not take illegal drugs, still believe children should show respect to their elders, and still believe in <GASP>discipline, (YES with love)
All comments and personal trashing of the poster for NO other reason than who posted it will be I G N O R E D!
The other day, someone at a store in our town read that a methamphetamine lab had been found in an old farmhouse in the adjoining county and he asked me a rhetorical question, ''Why didn't we have a drug problem when you and I were growing up?''
I replied: I had a drug problem when I was young: I was drug to church on Sunday morning.
I was drug to church for weddings and funerals.
I was drug to family reunions and community socials no matter the weather.
I was drug by my ears when I was disrespectful to adults.
I was also drug to the woodshed when I disobeyed my parents, told a lie, brought home a bad report card, did not speak with respect, spoke ill of the teacher or the preacher, or if I didn't put forth my best effort in everything that was asked of me.
I was drug to the kitchen sink to have my mouth washed out with soap if I uttered a profane four-letter word.
I was drug out to pull weeds in mom's garden and flower beds and cockleburs out of dad's fields.
I was drug to the homes of family, friends, and neighbors to help out some poor soul who had no one to mow the yard, repair the clothesline, or chop some firewood;
and, if my mother had ever known that I took a single dime as a tip for this kindness, she would have drug me back to the woodshed.
Those drugs are still in my veins; and they affect my behavior in everything I do, say, and think. They are stronger than cocaine, crack, or heroin; and, if today's children had this kind of drug problem, America would be a better place.

Tony Bad - 26 Oct 2005 15:07 GMT All the "drugging" you received seems to have made you an angry, bitter, judgmental person. Not a ringing endorsement for that style of parenting!

So what happened in that woodshed that the child was "drug" to? Was it a different form of abuse to smacking?
Isn't smack a drug?

somebody - 27 Oct 2005 17:38 GMT >kiss...smack on the a.s...kiss on the a.s...wonder what she was doing >out in the woodshed? I think the laws are different in each state. Up until 1969, in MN it was legal to take the hand-axe and cut-off a digit. (As per Red-Green would say, "Then just throw it in the chipper and make some good fertilizer."
Usually once took care of any behavioral problems.
We have a lot of older dentists in MN practicing with 9 digits....
... hmmmm.... then someone that had a root canal go bad, complained. The law was changed.
Now we have a bunch of kids on Ritalin, "younger" physicians abusing demerol, "younger" dentists abusing cocaine, .... and meth labs going up all over the place...
BUT OUR DENTISTS HAVE ALL THEIR DIGITS!
thank God.

kureforcrohns@sbcglobal.net - 27 Oct 2005 19:29 GMT Throw in anti-depressants, the answer to everything are the most abused of all. What would the pharmaceuticals do if all stimulant mood behavorial drugs were modified in use. It is a CRIME the suffering they cause, could shorten life, and many, many people cannot live in peace, without ever knowing WHY they are not well. Drugging most of the residents with anti-depressants of nursing homes is abominable. My friend went in weighing 116 lbs. weighed her yesterday, and she is l60. Again, no one thinks anything is wrong. I can only say if that were the psychiatrist's mother, sister, daughter, etc. she would not accept that condition as being normal gain. Neither would the owner of the home. All she can say is "I am trying my best" Not good enough. Disgusting is an understatement. I am appalled.

My post was supposed to be humorous. As you know most (like 95%) of it was B.S. I have no stats to back up anything made in my post.
But to answer your Q about Demerol. Demerol is the brandname for Meperidine which is in a class of drugs called narcotic analgesics. It relieves pain. It is highly addictive.
I have heard physician friends of mine tell stories about other physicians who have abused their privileges and become addicted to demerol (and other prescription drugs to which they have ready access). But, I really do not know if there is a higher prevalence of drug abuse among physicians as compared to other occupations.
Like I said, it was supposed to be humorous and was exaggerated a lot.
We are a drug happy society though.. that is for sure. We tend to "medicate everything with a pill."
Take Care, Sue
