Just wondering how one would detail in a bibliography info retrieved from a
newsgroup? Would it be considered a valid source?

One of the first things to remember is that geriatric patients are old
...........

Oh, search for Geri-Store and switch your paper to say,

"Use of Geristore (glassionomer) in restoring hopeless teeth for
geriatric patients."

The American Society for Geriatric Dentistry's official publication is a
journal named Special Care in Dentistry which wouldn't be a bad place to
start if you've access to past issues.   If you do not have access to an
intranet publication search engine you can go to
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/query.fcgi  and search Pubmed.  Titles and
abstracts are free.   Just type in "Geriatric Dentistry" in the search bar.

Also there is a Geriatric Dentistry task force here at the University of
Rochester and a two-year fellowship in same.  If you want a comprehensive
bibliography I can probably get you one from one of the fellows.

I have material on geriatric prosthodontics which you probably wouldn't want
as it is very clinical.

Good luck

You're in Rochester? Just across the lake, or a quick ferry ride from me.

What do you have with respect the material? I'd be interested in seeing it.

Hey Roy

Sorry, been offline for awhile

Yep, I be in Rottenchester NY, home of the Fast, bankrupt ferry service (only
lost 4.2 mil this year!)  Actually I rode it once last year and the Mrs. & I
had a great time, stayed over and took in "Mamma Mia", what fun.   Hope the
boat stays in biz regardless.

You are welcome to any of my humble offerings regarding geriatrics &  prostho.
I've got a few Power point presentations, some geared for dummies (i.e.
dental residents) and some for more seasoned providers.  And some handouts.
I could throw it all on a disc for you and mail it if you like.  Nothing
world-shaking, just what seems to work for Charlie.

I've actually paraphrased and used some of your remarks in this forum on what
makes for a good denture.  No I am not paying you royalties.   Which brings
up the point that I could probably learn more from you than the reverse - so
let me know if you want the stuff and maybe you could buy me a cup of coffee
next time I'm up North and show me around.  I get up there via boat (not the
Ferry) every other Summer or so.

Thanks,

Charlie

Charlie,

Thanks for answering Rashmi's questions politely.

Rashmi,

I am interested in public health issues focusing on: peds, geriatrics
and minorities (populations that have been highlighted (as per Surgeon
General 2000 report) as "underserved." I would love to read your paper
when you have it completed.

Please keep us posted.

Sincerely,
Sue

Sounds great Charlie,

Have a look at my sig, and my "reply to" address - the spam thwarting is
obvious.
We can exchange info.

One of the boats problem is they registered it somewhere like the Bahamas. Even
though it follows the same route every trip they have to pay for a Great Lakes
pilot. Commercial transport is not allowed because our various governments have
not or will not set up what is needed for customs etc.

Hey Roy

You're right about the ferry; be interesting to see if it survives.

Let's hook up: coster@edc.rochester.edu

Thanks

Charlie
