In general, this is probably better discussed on dentaltown.com/ where you
will find many who like to hold forth on this sort of thing.
(I am not in the biz but if I remember my Business school, the following is
true)
Your lab bill (crowns etc.) represents items that are marked up and billed
to the patient rather than expensed, so therefore lab bills would not normally
be considered as part of your operating ratios. Implication: As long as you
have lots of patients who all need lot$ of treatment and are all paying their
bills, a big lab bill is a GOOD thing!

You are correct. Another impoirtant concept is fixed expense versus
