So I had 2 newspaper ad salespeople stop in my office today presenting
me with advertising opportunities for a new local newspaper.

They claim:

#1 - Reach some 15,000 homes and some 40,000+ readers ever week.

#2 - Extremely attractive advertising rates.  A 1/4 page ad costs less
than 3 cents per home.

#3 - It's a free publication.

#4 - It's highly-visible throughout local communities.

I asked these questions:

How many copies are printed?  They replied 8,000.

How are they distributed?  They are on a newspaper stand at this
supermarket.

Anywhere else?  No, not yet.

A 4x6 ad will cost $150.  13 weeks will cost 1514.70 with a 15%
discount.  Big deal.

I wonder how they came up with their statistics.  Makes me wonder...

AFAIK, there's no better advertising than happy patients and word of
mouth. Many of your patients will tell their friends, if asked. I know
I've sent at least twenty people to my dentist... and the price is
right too... ;*)
