Help please. I had an extraction last week.A difficult procedure.I felt lucky
to keep my head.
After following my dentists advice, of pain killers and avoiding touching the
area, I sinally gave in to the sheer pain nausea and discomfort of the last
4 days , and placedmy small finger between the gum and cheek to feela sharp
piece of bone protruding through the gum. My anger at the dentist not
checking this after the extraction has made me certain of not returning. But
no one will look or consent to treat me.Do I have any rights.I paid privately
and yet I seem trapped with no way out. Any info would be gratefully received.

Nope,. no rights. Its normal, it happens, its part of the healing
process.

Happens all the time. Sometimes a fracture piece of bone will work its way
to the surface.

Is not his fault, most likely he felt it was no reason to take an x-ray
after surgery , it does happen sometimes.
You had a bad luck , it would have been easier to return to that dentist and
have the little piece removed.

I doubt this dentist will charge you for the removal of the fragment.
This hppens all the time with extractions very common and easily fixed.
