Hi,
I am considering changing to Dentrix and was wondering if I could get
some
input
from those of you who have experience with the product. What are some
of the
more weaker
points versus other software? Thank you in advance

Get Eaglesoft instead.  You will be about 18 months ahead of Dentrix on
most
enhancements.

In the paperless environment, Eaglesoft locks your records for security

daily, while Dentrix does so monthly.

Excellent, excellent excellent. Wanna see my periodontal charting or
something? It is so good for convincing patients that there are
periodontal insufficiencies ..... (workstation in operatories in the
rage).

We can chart again in six months and BAM! A comparison graphic ,,,
improvement or regression!
There is a Dentrix listserv that details complaints, tips, and
techniques. Excellent resource.

Issues related to running an office with zero paper patient records and
zero
film.

1)  integration of imaging software rather than bridging to it
2)  Locking records
3)  Tamper-proof image file types
4)  Medical histories
5)  Patient registrations
6)  Electronic referral
7)  Rx writer
8)  Lab prescriptions
9)  etc.

I have followed the specific aspects necessary to operate in the
absence of
paper and film.  Dentrix has lagged behind.

Having said all this, I believe Dentrix to be a good product.  My
particular
slant on things is not from the average dentist writing in contaminated

dirty paper charts.

Hi Steve,

Patient registrations .......
Robert  Morien - 25 Sep 2005 21:33 GMT
Thanks for reminding me to remind all of you good folk to practice
reverse trick or treat. When they come to my door I trick or treat them.
If they don't give me a treat, I don't give them one.

I shouldn't be deprived of my ability to trick or treat just because I
have to stay home and hand out treats.

Keep cross posting like that and the power whitening mafia will find
you ;*)

Seriously. I understand there's going to be a full revamp of the PMS
and Vipersoft is on its way out. Vipersoft will be replaced by Clarity,
a full revamp of the clinical system. I also understand that they'll
keep the C-Tree version for a while but they're going to offer an SQL
version for practices too (probably at a fee).

I hope 12 is better than 11. I've not been overly impressed with DX as
of late. They seem to be lagging behind the competition, IMO.

It isn't uncommon. The bottom line is the bottom line and the
shareholder is king; while accountability and quality control go by the
wayside. IMO, this go-go mentality isn't a sound long term business
model... but what do I know :)
