i'm thinking of getting braces and was told that i would need to wear a
mouthpiece 24/7 for two years or so.. i've noticed a lot of people with
mouthpieces tend to lisp and slur and salivate severely, then again maybe
there are dozens of people i've spoken to who were wearing them and i didn't
notice.. my question is, are most mouthpieces made the same, do they all
cause this lisp/slur phenomenon or is there some technologically advanced
mouthpiece or technique i should seek out? if not, how difficult is it to
overcome? say i read books out loud to myself for four hours a day
concentrating on pronunciation.. could i expect to get it back to 100% or
will i always have some amount of lisp/slurring?
thanks
