Absolutely correct Bill. Its not a big deal at all. The value is that
Justin did accomplish it and I am certain this knowledge will prove
useful in the future. This has spawned lots of new ideas for me.
It reminds me of when some new gang arrives on the scene with fire,
for example. Now that's a definite improvement over eating raw flesh.
Still, some of the old-timers prefer things the old way!
Hey! Speaking of improvements, I am wondering when we will get a new
beer-can-chicken recipe?

BILLKATZ writes,
The secret to a good beer butt chicken is to use a rub and control the
heat. I like to mix half Old Bay and half Cajun seasoning (brush with a
little melted butter so it'll stick) and a pinch of salt. Put it on a
smoker in a slow fire while adding a few mesquite chips from time to
time (45 minutes or so). Finish it in the broiler so the outside gets
crispy. Make one per two people, serve with Jambalaya or wild rice,
lots of red wine and they'll circle the table like Indians.

This is really weird... but my husband Kirk makes the best beer can
chicken around. My family raves about his beer can chicken.

Yup and it gets especially exciting when you *don't* open the beer can
before you put it on the fire..
