Interestingly odd thread; including an interesting typo not at all
common of JME (find it for yourself, readers).  And I do wonder what
"GONE!!!" refers to...

Joel is referring to the hack of smd by dentalcom's message board.
apparently the owner of that site pulled the feed (GONE!!!)

Typos.  Who makes them?  Most of us do.  Why do we make them?
Sometimes by accident, sometimes intentionally.

The typo I noticed could have been intentional.  Why?  It's a hidden
message.  This thread has everything to do with a dispute of sorts
between "people", one of whom intentionally spells "that way" in most
posts.  So.... typos ... we shouldn't assume that we are *supposed* to
overlook them out of courtesy because sometimes they are added for
reason.

smd ... still a huge jigzaw puzzle with a bunch of missing pieces!

You see, JME doesn't really make many typos, generally speaking.  But
there is *one* that he has made often -- so often, in fact, that I
can't  attribute it to being accidental.

One of the things I enjoy most about smd/usenet is the potential for
mental gymnastics -- some being important at the end of the day and
some useless.  So what does it matter if JME intentionally types a
particular word incorrectly?

Only he knows that answer.  And for all I know, I'm the *only* one who
finds this "interesting" at all!  And with that in mind, I can still
smile at the whole thing.  :-)

We mark the passing of DentalCom.Net, reviled by some, loved by
others. It also contained all my homework for the Palentology course
last winter. Fortunately I need none of it!

Oh well, I?m tired and so weary But I must go alone
Till the lord comes and calls, calls me away, oh yes
Well the morning's so bright And the lamb is a light
And the night, night is as black as the sea, oh yes

There will be peace in the valley for me, some day
There will be peace in the valley for me, oh Lord I pray
There'll be no sadness, no sorrow No trouble, trouble I see
There will be peace in the valley for me, for me
Mark Thurston - 08 Sep 2005 18:51 GMT
No no no....

There is some old techno track that goes "Peace in the valley, peace in the
city, woahohohoh" or something like that.

Pretty classic early 90s track.

Mark.
