Actually its impossible to know ....... a nntp gateway is simply a
translator. As example, please see my Recycle page that grabs posts
from our Philadelphia recycling community and posts the most recent 15
posts (headlines only) onto my Pennsport Recycling area of the net.

Same deal.

What is FREEcycling?

Well I needed a new computer monitor. Did I buy one? Heck no. I went
onto the page and sent an e-mail to one of the members who wanted to
dispose of eleven monitors.

Its an interesting concept. It keeps crap out of the landfill. I have
gotten $100 Adobe PhotoShop books that are in BRAND NEW condition.
This is a smart concept.

Yup there is loads of silly stuff but lots of excellent stuff. Its
such a shame to toss a practically new $100 PhotoShop book into the
trash. This was with the CD-ROM unopened.

Uh-Huh... but I bet you don't find the Macintosh versions being thrown
out like that...

If you _do_, I'd try to contact some of the posters and offer to pay
postage up here.

The one rule is that no money can change hands ....... you would be
amazed at what appears on that site. There are currently 2,500
messages per month appearing.

By the way, that page is my own little hack to display the current
items ...... its also a little bit of advertising so do not tell W_B
........
