Not long ago one of my crowns came off with the post still in it. The
dentist glued it back on. 2 Days ago I feel a dull pain when I rub my
finger on the gum near the tooth. This tooth was root canalled. There
appears to be no swelling. I had a bad tooth abecess once and this does
not seem like it. This tooth was root canalled long ago. I have been
doing warm salt water rinses several times per day. Any ideas what may
be happening?

I would just be speculating, but a similar thing happened to my wife.
She now has an implant.
What I think happened in her case was I attempted to place a longer
post, and managed to push some C&B Metabond past the apex of the root.
It is also possible that there is just a bit of stray cement that got
impacted into the gum. You should have your dentist have a look.

My Dentist cannot see me till the 9/12/05. I have noticed this Sunday
Morn 9/4 that the area what hurts is a little more swollen, pain
varies. I keep up the salt water rinses.

Actually saw them once, as a substitute warm-up band.
Mayall was there of course, not sure of the rest of the originals.

You prolly saw them w/o EC. Bein' a guit-man, you'd have recognized him
and his Les Paul (I assume that's what he was still using at that time).
Ginger Baker was often his drummer as well as Cream's. You _may_ have
seen them when Steve Winwood was tagging along. If so, you'd have heard
some mammoth keyboard solos.

It was prolly a decade ago, and I really don't remember that much.
Matter of fact don't remember who the headliner was.

Then it would have been JM with a totally rejeuvenated band. He does
that to give newbies their chance.
Cheers

Just on the offchance that there's a loose piece of something in the
interdental space, try tying one or two knots in a piece of dental floss
and pull it bucco-lingually (horizontally from one side to the other) to
dislodge what is in there. This might be just a bit of pus, but it may
just be a piece of fractured tooth. If so, you should feel at least
_some_ relief.

Is this because the dentist has zero openings, or because the only time you
can come in is not free until then?

Yup, less than perfict fit of the crown on the tooth.
