Study hard and long. Kaplan's book is not essential for getting a good
grade on the DAT (assuming you learned well in undergraduate college). You
own notes and text book from the past 3-4 years of study should be more
useful.

STUDYING anything ....
Get a study/buddy and ask each other questions. There is nothing like
being "asked" to find out how little you know. Try it here too. ASK US
a few questions ... and then when we fumble YOU EXPLAIN it to us, from
memory of course!
Then we can tell you what you forgot to tell us in the answer!
