Howdy all. This is Tuesday. The Shuttle is back down, and they didn't
need my help to do it.

I know that Roy answered my joke about sending my basement junk to his
house. I never saw the post; it was blanked out and I only know that he
answered because Dr.S replied to that post.

My condolences for your Step Father, Roy.

Sympatico is getting royally on my nerves. I have been without UseNet
since Sunday nite, getting back from the MIL'S place in the Lowere St.
Lawrence. It only came back NOW, and I have no explanation for that.
Neither do they.

I think Alex Graham Bell would turn over in his grave.

Cheers

Hiya Piper,

I suppose a short trip to Toronto at the end of this month will be out of
the question for you?

I 'tend' to think so. That is when the ODQ is having their convention.
It is being combined with some world dental community this year, and
that is why it is not in May, as it usually is. Then again, I'll look it
up, as I'm not going to the whole damn thing (over a week long) and I
can at least find out how much $$$ a ticket to T.O. would be. When would
you be going?

It should using the FDI numbering system.

BTW should we try connecting with Rob Suzuki that posted here a few years back.
He's in London.? What about Charlie Ruff. Wasn't his daughter possibly
considering Western for Dentistry? If so, We'll be there a week or so before
school starts - just about time for the students to be moving. I also checked to
see if Western had any Con Ed courses that weekend, nothing till September.

Well I have the answer straight from tech support. Here it is:

---Start quote ----
Thank you for brining the difficulties you have been experiencing with our
newsgroup servers to our attention.
The problem you are experiencing is related to current Technical difficulties on
our mail server. Our network department is investigating and a solution to this
problem will be applied shortly.

---end quote--

Someone on the sympatico.highspeed ng told me they use the newservers as mail
servers when sympatico mail is having troubles.

Stovie, point your newsreader to sympatico.highspeed and sympatico.support
(there are french equivalents too) . That way you can pick up a few pointers on
when things are going wrong without having to call 310-smurf. Plus there are a
lot of pointers on getting things to work, like alternate DNS and news
addresses.
