I need a replacement drive belt for an old belt driven dental drill.
It's the type with a drive motor and lots of pulleys and arms going to
the actual drill. (Foredom Model #9).

Factory parts are no longer avail.  Any suggestions?  I'm guessing
it's a continuous loop about 1/8" diam and about 5' long.

is this to work on patients??

Yes, you'll be my first patient.  Go you need gas or is Novacain
enough?

I'm sure they must be available.  I've ordered belts for my old Emesco
engine from Schein.
If you can't locate it, I'll have a look at some of my catalogs
tomorrow when I'm in the office.

I agree with Steve.

Don't worry about the brand, most of them were made the same manufacturer
rebranded to Foredom, Emesco, Demco, Buffalo or ???????

The key is the length of the belt. If they are not in a current catalogue one
comes up on eBay every couple of weeks.

A quick search for "belt" in dental lab equipment shows six belts in item #'s

Most dental supply companies should carry this.

Ask for a "jack rabbit" belt.

Thanks for all the replies.

I've found the belts from various dental suppiers.  Now my challenge is
getting them to sell to me since I'm not a dentist.

Patterson Dental told me to "take a hike".  Schein let me order online
but I'm still waiting to see if they actually ship my belt.  It seems
like all these suppliers want to pre-screen their customers.

In case Schein rejects my order, does anyone know of a dental supplier
that sells to anyone via a credit card?

Well dental supply companies generally only sell to dentists.
It largely depends on what you are ordering.

You may want to make friends with a local dentist or dental lab technician.

Change the first line of your mailing address to "Dave's Dental Lab".

You can thank me later,
