That combination often works very well with either an overdenture or a metal
framed partial denture

No way to tellwithout seeing you. Usually, people prefer to keep their
teeth as solid as possible. Best to avoid the conventional full lower
denture, as it will move around a lot.

IF the cuspids have had RCT already, you are ready for an overdenture when
ever you want to go that way.

You are understandably concerned about spending more money than you can
afford for little or no gain, but the rule is this: the more teeth you keep
in the lower jaw, the more comfortable you will be with the result. Based
on my 20-plus years of specializing in this area I'd have to say that, from
the patient's point of view: partial denture is better than attachment
overdenture is better than non-attachment overdenture is definitely better
than complete denture.
I always tell patients contemplating going to a complete denture this: "80-90%
of complete denture wearers are happy with the upper, and 90% are unhappy
with the lower."
I made those numbers up but I believe them, and I've made a loooot of
dentures.
Good luck
