veneer pain when wearing a nightguard

I have veneers on the upper front six teeth.  I also clentch at night during
times of stress.  After a few years of wearing my night guard, my veneers are
causing me pain, within 10 minutes after putting in the night guard.  The
guard was made in house and very rigid, my dentist enlarged the tooth area by
drilling out more space in the mouthguard, then added a soft flexible materal
to see if a new more flexible nightguard would be better, but it still caused
pain within minutes after wearing it, so I cannot wear my nightguard, but I
still clentch at night.  Any solutions?  Thank you.

Does the guard fit on upper front teeth?

Or lower front teeth?

Just curious

Either way depending on the conditions

NTI's usually work a lot better than any 'conventional' splint.

Only the greatest advancement in 'bite guards' in the
last 100 years <G>.  Visit <HeadacheHope.com>.

Slightly prejudiced,

Actually Steve its better if you send folks to www.headacheprevention.com
which is the patient site for NTI, while headachehope.com actually forwards
to www.nti-tss.com the dentist site.

Thanks.

Actually, I wish the site had stayed nti-tss for everything.
For every single headache case, I probably have 10 other patients that
need an NTI for different reasons.  Marketing primarily to headache
prevention does not cover the real value of the device (IMO).

"NTI, it's not just for headaches"

Well there is certainly nothing wrong with sending patients to both.  Oh and
how right you are, there are dozens of uses for the little NTI that doesn't
have a thing to do with headache.  The main benefit of sending patients to
headacheprevention.com is the "Find-a-Dentist" database that allows folks to
search by zipcode to find a provider.

For internet communications, I would like an easy direct link to the "find a
dentist" page.

I like www.nti-tss.com for professionals, but would prefer something equally
simple for the patient pages.  www.headacheprevention.com is too long.
www.nti-device.com or something similar would be nice.

Agree

I didn't get mine cause I was having headaches

Matter of fact I hardly ever have them

Got mine for other reason. Mainly cause I was chewing
the crap out of the very expensive crowns on my back
teeth

So I got the NTI as a "preventative" measure for future
pain and costs

Upper teeth.  Are the lower guards just as effective?

I don't know cant answer

But the reason I ask is I also have veneers on top 4
teeth and JUST got an NTI device to wear

But my dentist had to make my NTI device to snap on my
bottom teeth as my bite is such he wasn't comfortable
with making a top fitting NTI.

So far using the bottom one is OK. No problems.  I just
read your dilemma and was curious if yours was top
fitting or bottom fitting.
