Is there any functional value to front teeth?

They don't normally seem to be used to chew food.  In fact, a person
chewing with his or her front teeth looks strange.

So what are they for?

Perhaps they were used for initial tearing through animal or fruit skin
back before we had processing that did that for us.  Of course, we
don't chew with our front teeth, but your ancestors hundreds of
thousands of years ago might very well have ripped through animal skin
or fruit skin (e.g., orange) using their front teeth.

Heh, or not...  :)

I guess you must eat apples with a knife and fork them?

If I eat apples, I must slice and dice thinly with those tools; no
chopsticks for me.  In fact, if I eat just about anything, a knife and
fork are required even more so than a spoon because spoons are difficult
to eat from.  I am unusual, no doubt about it.  But I also find many
uses for my front teeth such as speaking (Dr. Steve)!!

They have little or no value, I would suggest that you get both your upper
and lower front teeth pulled.
