This is called an overdenture.
The teeth that are retained are cut off at the gumline,
this requires endodontic therapy and a final restoration in
the retained teeth.
The other way to go, and maybe this is what you mean
is called a 'removable partial denture'.
Don't know your situation, but ask any questions that you can think of.
Write them down beforehand so you won't forget.

No way to diagnose from just one radiograph, but that does not look like a
full denture case to me.
