Cracked Teeth Question

Thread7@hotmail.com - 22 Jun 2005 16:09 GMT I just had three mercury fillings removed a month ago and replaced with white fillings. Two of those fillings have now developed cracks. One is right down the middle. I am a 36 year old male and have had one other crack in the past. Do you think my dentist should be responsible for this problem? Or is it just unlucky.
Thanks.

Dr Steve - 22 Jun 2005 19:37 GMT When someone comes in and says "mercury fillings", you know they have been fed a bucket-full of marketing. Good mechanics seldom resort to scare tactics.

Replacing a timing belt is cheap...replacing an engine is not!

Recently replaced the timing belt on the MR2 as a preventive measure, was having other stuff done. Mancuso rode in it, man were his eyes big as saucers when I stomped on it. --

A prime time to also change the timing belt. 1) easier to get to (less labor cost) 2) an ounce of prevention... --

Dr Steve - 24 Jun 2005 15:06 GMT If you guys would just get a nice 2-stroke SAAB, you would not have to worry about this. No timing belt (no timing chain either), [heck, no valves]. Water pump sits on the back end of the generator so it is not even attached directly to the engine. They even came with over-head fan shafts.

2-stroke = high revs, power band
4-stroke = low end torque
Oh yeah, I don't think there is a such thing as a "nice" 2-stroke Saab....

A foul smell in the air?

Steven Fawks - 22 Jun 2005 20:06 GMT If the amalgams were replaced just for the heck of it, something is wrong.
If the amalgams were replaced due to decay and/or cracks it's hard to tell. If that were the case, you should have had a conversation about possible risks and consequences.
