Help - White areas at the base of my teeth

Hello,

I realize this might be hard or impossible to diagnose without seeing
it, but I live in a very remote area and it's hard for me to get to a
dentist, so any guesses are appreciated.  I brush twice daily and floss
(perhaps not as often as I should), but I've developed white areas at
the base of some of my teeth that stick up about 1 to 2mm above the
gumline.  These areas are much whiter than the rest of my teeth.  It
appeared within a week or two.  It's not on my very front teeth, and
not on my molars, but on the teeth in between.  On the bottom more than
the top teeth.  These white aread feel a little sensitive if I scratch
them with my fingernail.  I don't know if this is related, but I've
also had some kind of a tongue problem where I had bumps on the back of
my tongue, and then my tongue got sort of white and hairy.

Any guesses as to what this could be?  Or does anybody know of any
websites that have pictures of dental problems that I could look at to
see if I can find something that looks like what I have?  Thanks!

Just a shot in the dark here but could be decalcification or early formation
of abfraction due to parafunction.

IOW something is causing the enamel to break down at the neck of the tooth.

Hairy tongue, just brush your tongue.
Likely not related.

You might search out "oral pathology, pictures"
