I just found out I have a strip perforation in my # 18 tooth. This
tooth was re-root canalled by a dentist three years ago. I was never
told about the perforation.
Some background:
Tooth did not hurt, but dentist said it needed a re-do.
Dentist cleaned out some of the old gutta percha and then filled the
canals with TCM. (N2 and Terracortril)
Two months later he cleaned this out and filled the canals with
Thermofil and AH26.
I do not know which visit the perforation occurred.
Can a strip perforation be fixed or will this tooth be lost? From some
of what I have read AH26 is hard to remove. Is this true.

I don't know how tough it is to remove. In 2005, using N2 is asking
for trouble (IMO).
Some root canal specialists have been getting very good results in this
kind of situation with something called MTA.

Good answer. Apico not possible in most lower second molars.
Consult with an endodontist.

Bad. (N2, that is)

AH26 is just as bad as N2.

You need a consultation with an endodontist.
