Seriously, I guess if a dentist decided to hire males as dental
hygenists, customers wouldn't like that too much...right?

Wouldn't bother me a bit. I was under the dentist earlier today, and if it
was a male hygenist I'd be fine with that. If he knew what he was doing, and
did his job.

And why should anyone care?

I didn't realise Mormons were into this stuff.  All those years of extra
wives must have pushed him over the edge.

"Sad that"

In terms of dentistry, I'm nonsexist. If a man or woman can do the job,
that's fine.

At one point there weren't any female dentists.  What is your point?

I worked in an office with a male hygienist. Funny thing is that everyone
always assumed he was a doctor, yet I have worked with female dentists, and
many people assumed they were the hygienist! So much for no gender related
stereotypes!

Yep, I saw that in  a hospital. Friend of mine was in the hospital, and a
gal walked by "NURSE!" he implored her. (Wanted a pain shot). She turns out
to be the MD. Ah, well. I'm sure she gets that all the time.

I can imagine a male hygenist being called doctor all the time.

Over the years, i have had 2 male hygienists working for me.
But they dont stick around.  After a year or 2, they all wind-up air
stewards.

I'd hire a male hygienist in a heartbeat.

No maternity leave, not following their husband around when he finds a new
job, etc.

He might follow his husband to a new job. I'm sure it happens. He could
adopt too.

"I'm sure it happens."    I am certain it happens as the male nurse at the
nursing home where my friend is, when he left the employment there "was
following his husband to a new job somewhere out of town"     Couple of
weeks before, he admired a garnet necklace I was wearing, which I loved.
Because I hoped my friend would get extra care, I gave him the necklace as a
gift and I thought a lot of him too.    Wasted effort, although not
completely.   I didn't know he was leaving.  The desk he worked at is in the
view of patients that can sit there, and the one I am always sqawking about,
sat there ALL day subconsciously concentrating on the personnel.   I told
him to try not to pay attention to her as he was beginning to have sores on
his legs, and she is on an antidepressant.   From previous experience he
knew this could be so, at least one person believed me.   But as he said,
what could he do, she is always there.    Finally, he was diagnosed with
crohns, and I thought he would try to get her off the  antidepressant.
(other residents are too, but they are in no position to think of others)
No, he decided to leave instead.    I knew he wasn't going anywhere amd the
owner said he was.  The owner later said  he didn't go anywhere.   I had
told her he wasn't going anywhere.    Does she believe me now that the
antidepressant harms.   NO    Guess it is a hopeless situation,    don't
care if my friend were not a target of this woman.    Talking to the doctors
is like talking to the wailing wall.
There might be more response from the wall as I hear people put notes into
the wall, probably for their wishes.  I am a thorn in the owners side, and
she and the doctors are the same to me.    Talking and crying to myself
again, and wish I had my necklace back.   Wish I didn't write this, as it is
useless.
